Masters Indoor Events
Three of our veteran athletes, Glen, Carl and Dave were out in force at Lee Valley competing in the Veteran Eastern Masters event on 9th Feb, and the British Masters on 22nd & 23rd Feb.
VAC-Eastern Masters Indoor Athletics Championships, 8th / 9th February 2025
Dave made an impressive start to his throwing season, coming away with silver in V55 category.
Carl and Glen were competing in jump events, where there were a mix of age categories.
Carl competed in LJ, coming third overall and first in V35 category.
Glen competed in HJ, PV and TJ. He came 2nd in HJ overall (1st in V35), 7th in PV (2nd in V55) and 1st in TJ.
British Masters, 22nd / 23rd February 2025.
In the M55 category Dave came away with a bronze in SP with a throw over 11m which was agonisingly only 5cm behind silver! This was a Season’s Best and he was thrilled to be over 11m for the first time in 3 years.
In the M35 category, Carl was leading the long jump right up until the last jump and picked up a silver with 5.40m.
Glen picked up bronze in the M35 pole vault with 2.80m and another bronze in the high jump with 1.60m, but more importantly hopped, stepped and jumped to victory in the triple jump with 11.27m.
